Your agreement is required so that an Assessment Visit can take place to establish how the service has implemented and made sustainable the learning from the programme and to achieve recognition to become a Healthy Ireland Pre-school service. This will be arranged with you once you have fully implemented the programme into your daily curriculum across three terms following attendance at the training programme

This programme requires definitive management sign on to support practitioners in implementation. Please communicate to your staff what will be required in terms of commitment. A help desk facility will be available to you throughout attendance at the training and following this, to guide you in implementation, policy and practice.

Gender Differences: The Nature vs Nurture Debate

Pink and Blue: Communicating Gender to Children

What do our words and actions communicate to children about their gender roles?

Nature v Nurture

This clip is from the BBC programme called, Bang Goes the Theory. It looks at the nature v's nurture on the subject of children and their preference in male or female gendered toys. The most interesting segment is when the young monkeys are given toys to play with. I hope you find it as interesting as I did.

TEDxJaffa -- Daphna Joel -- Are brains male or female?

Professor Daphna Joel explores the mistaken concept that brains can be either male or female, thus providing an explanation for why men and women are different. She disputes the theory, displays the neurological data and proves that our brains are really a unique mosaic of male and female characteristics, forming an 'intersex brain.'

How does gender stereotypes affect Boys and Girls?

How do the western influences of gender stereotyping and media affect the overall teenage public?

Cultural influences on gender roles

How would your life be different if you woke up one day as the opposite gender?

Executive Functions. Synthesis. (2015)

Executive functions are the cognitive abilities needed to control and regulate our thoughts, emotions and actions. A distinction is sometimes made between the “cool” component of executive functions which strictly involves cognitive skills (e.g., the ability to do mental arithmetic), and the “hot” component, which reflects the ability to regulate emotions (e.g., being able to control anger).
